The region Feni is in the name of
river Feni is known at home and
abroad. Feni has special
characteristics in respect of the
name Feni. Bangladesh is a
reverence country. But it is very
rare to have a name of a region
by the name of a river. Probably
Feni is an exception to this. Feni
has been named as it is encircled
from there sides by the river Feni.
There may be some history or
original mysteries or myth or
story regarding the name of a
certain place. The scholars think,
there may be some well known
myth to know the culture of a
place. There are many interesting
local myths regarding the tittles
of Feni of them some one is real
and the other may be imaginary
which is very difficult to uphold.
Feni is a small southern district of
Bangladesh, bordering (clockwise
from the north) Tripura in India,
Chittagong district, the Bay of
Bengal, Noakhali district and
Comilla district. It comprises six
sub-districts ("Upazilas"):
Feni
Sadar, Chhagalnaiya, Porshuram,
Fulgazi, Daganbhuiyan and

full-fledged district in 1984, it was
part of the Noakhali district. Feni
has a moderate climate, and a rich
history dating back almost 3000
years. Except agriculture,
maximum people of Feni resides in
Dhaka City and Chittagong City,
engaged in Job and Business.It
has a large contingent of its
population residing in the Middle
East and other parts of the world.
The main highway of Bangladesh,
Dhaka-Chittagong inter-district
highway passes through Feni.
Buses usually take 3-4 hours to
travel on 165 km highway from
Dhaka and about 2.5 hours from
Chittagong. Panaromic landscape
comprising of the Tripura valley,
Feni River estuarine and green
paddy fields add to Feni district's
scenic beauty. Feni is also
important in strategic viewpoints,
its position near Indian border,
Bay of Bengal and shrink
geographical location on
Bangladesh makes it important.

novelists Shahidullah Kaiser and
Johir Rayhan, Language Martyr
Abdus Salam, playwrights Selim Al-
din and Dr. Inamul Huq and ex-
prime minister of Bangladesh
Begum Khaleda Zia.Inistituate One of the
three Girls Cadet Colleges in
Bangaldesh is situated in Feni.
The other two are in Mymensingh
and Joypurhat districts. The
Bangladesh's only Govt. Computer
Institute situated in Feni.Feni Gov. College,Feni Zia Women Collage,Feni Shahid market etc.
